Another amazing experience at Retromobile 7-11 February. Once again, we were extremely privileged to attend as guests on the stand of Lukas Hüni, surrounded by a truly incredible collection of cars. A very august setting for our display of books!
A highlight was definitely sharing space with the subject of our latest ‘Great Cars’ book, a wonderful Alfa Romeo Monza. Author Mick Walsh certainly seemed very happy to be in the driving seat.
The Monza drew a considerable amount of attention, with visits from Alain de Cadenet, former owner James Lindsay and current owner Roderick Jack. The photograph below shows a signing session with James Lindsay, as captured by lifestyle photographer Amy Shore.
Our companions on the Lukas Hüni stand also included 10 Ferrari 250 GT SWBs (three shown below), a brace of Maseratis and an amazing Voisin, to mention just a few.
Elsewhere in the halls, there were truly fascinating vehicles and displays at every turn. Jaguar Classic’s prototype D-Type Continuation Series car made its world debut on the Wednesday, while Jaguar lightweight E-type 49 FXN, subject of a previous ‘Great Cars’ book, was spotted on the Gregor Fisken stand – along with a rather jaunty rally XK 120.
