Goodwood Speedweek 2020
It was Goodwood but not as we know it!
It was great to be back at the finest historic motoring racing circuit in the world but it was mighty strange that the place was eerily lacking in spectators and the racing was punctuated by some very odd content.
However, the main thing is that there was a fabulous entry and some great racing. After being starved of proper motor racing for over a year, and having to endure all the ghastly challenges of the current period, it was truly wonderful to be back at Goodwood, wandering around the famous paddock and viewing some serious dicing.
I had a number of chats with famous clients and friends. Martin Brundle was on good form. I was able to thank Sir Jackie for the fantastic Foreword he has written for the forthcoming Michael Turner book. Ross Brawn was in his fabulous 250 GT SWB on which we did a book a few years ago. I asked Emanuele Pirro to write the Foreword for the Ferrari Breadvan book - he said, ‘Yes’!
Many congratulations, as ever, to The Duke of Richmond and Gordon, and all his colleagues, for putting on a magnificent feast of proper motor sport. Fingers crossed for next year.
