Start Line Bogota
Completed just days before the first Gran Premio República de Colombia Formula 2 motor race, the Autódromo Ricardo Mejía was Colombia’s first purpose-built circuit. The event attracted several Formula 1 drivers including Graham Hill, Jo Siffert (the race winner), Derek Bell, and Henri Perscarolo, who qualified 2nd. An eager Pescarolo is captured here settling into his March 712M (car no. 5) a few minutes before the start of the race.
